MMPP-001 is the research-based project course in IGNOU's MBA curriculum. It allows you to apply concepts learned in management subjects to an actual business, organisational, service or industry issue.
Instead of repeating textbook definitions, you choose a problem that can be researched, prepare an academically sound proposal, obtain the required approval, collect or analyse suitable evidence and write findings that follow from your research. The course carries eight credits and is intended to integrate practical decision-making with management theory.
Your project can focus on finance, human resources, marketing, operations, banking, logistics, healthcare administration, organisational strategy or another field suited to your registered management programme. The topic should preferably relate to your specialisation, but it also needs to be practical: relevant participants, documents or secondary data should be accessible to you.
A proposal explaining what you will study, why it matters and how you will investigate it.
Appropriate supervisor involvement, proposal documentation, guidance and necessary approval.
A structured account of the work completed, genuine analysis, results, limitations and recommendations.
An organised workflow reduces rework. Follow your approved research plan while keeping the new digital-submission checklist in mind from the beginning.
Choose a focused organisational issue linked to your MBA specialisation. Define the organisation or respondent group, location and measurable question. Avoid topics that require confidential records you cannot access.
Choose an eligible supervisor with relevant management expertise. Prepare the required biodata and signatures where applicable, and align the research design with the guide.
Write a logical proposal containing background, rationale, objectives, methodology, proposed analysis and study limitations. The objectives and method must match each other.
Complete the required synopsis approval stage before conducting your final project. Retain the approval and supervisor documents for the final submission.
Use a research design suited to your topic: questionnaire, interviews, case study or appropriate secondary data. Summarise findings fairly using tables and charts where useful.
Prepare complete chapters, citations, declaration and appendices. Ensure the title and research topic match the approved proposal.
Keep the prescribed files separately, within upload limits, and ensure every signature and certificate is legible. Verify scanned pages and file names.
Sign in to Samarth, open Services → Project Portal, make applicable fee payment, complete document uploads, Preview & Submit and then Final Submit. Save acknowledgement.
A good synopsis communicates a feasible study, not an already-decided conclusion. These sections will help you build an approval-ready research plan that your supervisor can assess.
Introduce the industry, organisation or business issue. Explain the broad setting and identify the precise management problem that motivates the proposed work.
Explain why the question deserves examination, who may benefit from the findings and what practical or academic gap the study addresses.
Write precise, realistic and neutral research objectives. Use researchable verbs such as assess, compare, examine, identify or analyse rather than claiming outcomes in advance.
Specify descriptive, exploratory, analytical or case-study design where appropriate. State how the design will address the objectives.
Identify primary or secondary sources, population, sample size rationale, selection technique and tools such as questionnaires, interviews or company records.
List intended tabulation or statistical methods and their relevance. Discuss likely limits involving time, place, access, sample or response quality.
These are real-world-inspired topic ideas to refine with your guide. Each section contains 16 ideas. Open a management area to browse its full list; all 160 topics are included in this page.
A Study of Employee Engagement in Hybrid Workplaces
Background: Hybrid-work practices can influence staff communication, trust, collaboration and perceived organisational support. Research can focus on selected service-sector employees.
Rationale: The findings may help HR professionals identify workplace experiences and managerial practices linked to engagement.
Objectives: Assess reported engagement; study links with communication and supervisor support; identify common workplace practices.
Design: A descriptive employee survey, supported by published HR literature. Choose sampling and sample size according to access and approved method.
Analysis: Frequency tables, suitable descriptive measures and appropriate comparisons. Conclusions must reflect collected data.
For the updated submission process, use your student account: IGNOU Samarth → Services → Project Portal (OPMS). This replaces the old physical final-report dispatch instructions for the affected session.
Open your IGNOU Samarth student account with your own credentials.
Select Services and find Project Portal / OPMS for your eligible project course.
Pay the applicable fee, then upload the PDF files required for your programme.
Check Preview & Submit, choose Final Submit and preserve acknowledgement.
Prepare files as readable PDFs. The document categories and limits below follow the new process checklist supplied for this project; the portal’s live requirements for your student record always control which fields are applicable.
| Document field | Checklist limit | Preparation guidance |
|---|---|---|
| Supervisor / guide biodata | 5 MB | Include qualifications, experience, contact details and signatures as required. |
| Approved synopsis / approved proposal copy | 5 MB | Preserve any approval markings, number, signatures and accompanying approval information. |
| Synopsis / project proposal | 10 MB | Upload the readable proposal PDF in the prescribed field when applicable. |
| Final project report, declarations and supporting material | 40 MB | Prepare a complete correctly ordered PDF with title, chapters, certificates, references and appendices as required. |
Last date for eligible learners to complete the December 2026 OPMS online project submission, according to the October 2026 instructions. Complete the project fee payment and final report submission separately.
Last date for IGNOU MBA MMPP-001 project submission for the June 2027 Term-End Examination: 30 May 2027. Complete the required OPMS steps before the deadline.
Important for June 2027 students: If you are targeting the June 2027 Term-End Examination, prepare your approved synopsis, completed project report, required signatures and PDF files well before 30 May 2027. Complete the submission process by the stated last date and check the Samarth portal for any session-specific instructions or updated notice. The actual payment and final upload steps must both be completed if the university requires them.
The updated 6 October 2026 OPMS instructions for the December 2026 TEE identify 30 November 2026 as the online project submission last date, with 11:59 PM shown in the student-portal tutorial. Students should complete both the applicable fee payment and the final online report upload before the stated cut-off. If IGNOU issues a newer notice for your programme or session, follow that latest official notice.
Project fee for MMPP-001 is stated as ₹500 in the IGNOU 2026 MBA prospectus, subject to the official Samarth portal's current payable amount and eligibility checks. Fee payment alone is not project-report submission; Final Submit must also be completed.
Official payment announcement: IGNOU announcements. Programme evaluation-fee reference: MBA 2026 prospectus.
For the December 2026 TEE, an eligible MBA learner uses their IGNOU Samarth student login, pays the applicable project fee, opens Services → Project Portal, selects the correct project course, enters the required supervisor and proposal information, uploads readable PDF documents within the prescribed limits, reviews every field in Preview & Submit, selects Final Submit and saves the acknowledgement. Fee payment alone does not complete the report submission.
Project Portal not visible: confirm the correct student login, course registration and payment reflection. File rejected: confirm PDF type, file size, legibility and document category. Wrong or unsigned certificate: recheck required declarations and signatures. Missing final confirmation: return to the preview stage and complete Final Submit if the portal still allows it. Duplicate or mistaken upload: follow the portal instructions or contact IGNOU support; do not assume a second upload cancels the first.
Write the report as an integrated research study. The established MMPP-001 academic manual describes approximately 50–60 double-spaced typed pages (around 18,000 words, excluding appendices and exhibits), with reasonable variation. Apply any updated programme-specific formatting rule displayed for your session.
Title and learner details, project title, supervisor details, required originality declaration/certificates, acknowledgement, and table of contents with clear page references.
Industry and organisation background, problem statement, rationale, scope, objectives, research questions and boundaries.
Summarise relevant existing research and management concepts, acknowledge sources properly and explain the gap your study examines.
Explain design, population, sampling technique, sample size rationale, sources, tools, data collection procedure, analytical methods and limitations.
Use appropriate tables, graphs and interpretation to address each objective. Avoid unsupported conclusions or fabricated responses.
Connect findings to objectives; draw evidence-based conclusions and practical recommendations; mention key limitations and further work if relevant.
List books, journal papers, reports, websites and other materials consistently using an appropriate referencing style.
Questionnaire, extra tables, applicable approval evidence, guide biodata, proforma and certificates in the order required by the live OPMS checklist.

This is a practical planning framework rather than an IGNOU-issued schedule. Allow time for the actual proposal approval process and follow the programme-specific deadlines.
Detailed answers to the questions MBA learners commonly ask about synopsis approval, topics, supervisors, project report preparation and the new OPMS method.
MMPP-001 is the 8-credit MBA project course. It involves planning and carrying out a management research study and submitting a final report based on the approved topic. It is not simply a compilation of textbook theory: the objectives, sources, methodology, findings and recommendations must fit together as one coherent management study. A feasible research question and documented evidence matter more than a fashionable title.
Yes. The MMPP-001 project framework requires proposal/synopsis approval before the final project study. Keep a legible copy of the approval for the submission stage. The proposal normally identifies the title, rationale, objectives, methodology and limitations, while the completed report develops the approved study. Keep evidence of approval and compare the final title against it before preparing your portal files.
Sign in to the IGNOU Samarth student portal, open Services and the Project Portal, complete the required fee and form steps, upload the applicable PDFs, check Preview & Submit, select Final Submit and save acknowledgement. The most important distinction is between saving a draft, previewing the form and actually completing submission. After the last confirmation, retain a PDF or screenshot of the acknowledgement and the details of the uploaded file for your records.
Do not follow the older postal-report instructions for a session governed by the new OPMS process. Use the current Samarth Project Portal and session-specific university notices. The current online workflow supersedes older report-dispatch instructions for the applicable session. Keep a personal printed copy if useful, but do not interpret a courier receipt as confirmation that an OPMS submission has been accepted.
The IGNOU announcement dated 18 September 2026 confirms 30 November 2026 as the last date for Project/Internship/Practical course-fee submission. Confirm the applicable final-report upload cut-off separately in the student portal or current project submission notice. The 6 October 2026 OPMS instructions for the December 2026 TEE identify 30 November 2026 as the online project submission cut-off; the tutorial indicates 11:59 PM. Do not leave the upload until the last day, and always check for any later official notice or programme-specific exception.
Pay through your respective IGNOU Samarth student login using the prescribed online payment route. The MBA prospectus refers to ₹500 for MMPP-001 project evaluation, subject to the current portal demand. The payable sum displayed for your eligible project-course record in Samarth should be your immediate reference. Keep the payment receipt, then complete the separate upload and final confirmation steps; merely paying does not submit your research report.
Upload the supervisor biodata document with applicable qualifications, experience, details and signature, in readable PDF form. The new upload checklist lists a maximum of 5 MB. Check that the guide name, qualifications, designation, experience, contact details and signature are readable and consistent with the proforma. Use the correct document category rather than merging unrelated files arbitrarily.
The new OPMS upload checklist supplied for this project describes a complete final report PDF, including declarations, up to 40 MB. Follow any stricter real-time instruction displayed in your own portal. The report PDF should contain the correct pages in order, and text, tables, signatures and annexures must remain readable after compression. A smaller file that blurs charts or certificates is not a successful upload-ready document.
The updated upload checklist lists 5 MB for the approved synopsis/proposal copy and 10 MB for the synopsis/proposal document field, where applicable. The portal may distinguish the synopsis document from evidence of its approval. Carefully label files and match the correct PDF to each field. Where multiple size caps are displayed, comply with the limit for that particular field.
The updated instructions use an authenticated online student-portal submission flow. Do not treat email as a replacement for completing the required OPMS Final Submit step. Email may be useful for an authorised enquiry or clarification, but it does not automatically create a project submission acknowledgement. Use the official course-specific submission channel shown in your authenticated student account.
It is the chance to inspect uploaded documents and entered details before final confirmation. Preview alone is not the same as completing Final Submit. At this point compare the course, project title, guide name, certificates and file names carefully. A successful-looking preview is only a review stage unless the portal explicitly shows completion or an acknowledgement.
Use NA only where the portal or applicable notice permits it and the document genuinely does not apply. Do not use it to bypass a required approved synopsis or certificate. “Not applicable” is a factual declaration, not a workaround for missing required evidence. If a document seems inapplicable but the portal marks it required, check the current student instructions before proceeding.
The MMPP-001 academic project manual describes approximately 50–60 double-spaced typed pages, around 18,000 words excluding appendices and exhibits, allowing reasonable variation. Page length is a planning benchmark rather than permission to pad your report with repetitive material. A clear literature review, transparent methodology, meaningful findings and correct references matter more than simply reaching a page count.
Common sections include introduction, literature review, organisational background, methodology, data analysis and discussion, findings, conclusion, recommendations, references and appendices. The sections should form a logical sequence: the research objectives guide the method, the data analysis addresses those objectives, and the recommendations follow from the findings. Put questionnaires, approvals and supplementary tables in appropriate appendices.
Yes. Select a topic linked preferably to your management specialisation, with adequate access to data, clear objectives and an approved project proposal. For example, an HR student could investigate employee engagement in a defined organisation, while a finance student could analyse working capital practices using credible published records. Discuss the scope with an eligible supervisor before finalising it.
Yes. The page provides 160 ideas across marketing, HR, finance, operations, banking, analytics, international business, healthcare, entrepreneurship and strategy. They can be adapted to a particular MBA specialisation. A workable topic must have manageable objectives and data access. An overbroad theme like “impact of marketing in India” is harder to study rigorously than a specific customer-satisfaction question in one defined market.
That depends on the nature of the approved design. A sound secondary-data project must use appropriate authentic sources, proper citations and sufficient analytical depth. If using published financial statements, annual reports, industry datasets or research publications, note their dates, limitations and comparability. Never present secondary figures as if they came from your own survey.
No single research instrument suits every project. Surveys, interviews, case-study records and secondary information may be appropriate depending on the approved methodology. A questionnaire is useful for some primary-data studies, but case studies, structured interviews and documentary analysis may be appropriate for other approved designs. The research tool must follow the actual objectives and methodology.
Study the evaluator feedback, correct the objectives, methodology or documentation, consult your supervisor and resubmit using the process applicable to your student record. Revisions often involve narrowing the title, correcting objectives, improving sample logic or supplying missing guide documents. Keep feedback and updated proforma copies together so that the resubmission responds to the stated concern.
Supervisor/guide coordination support can be discussed, subject to availability and the university’s eligibility and approval criteria. University rules govern supervisor qualifications and acceptance. Do not assume that payment to a third party automatically results in an approved guide, and do not submit anyone’s name or signature without authorisation.
A viva can be required where applicable under the programme and evaluation rules. Follow your Regional Centre and portal communication for individual instructions. If a viva is requested, prepare to explain why you chose the topic, how data were collected, what the important findings mean and what the limitations are. Keep research notes and data sources available for reference.
We describe 100% Approval Guarantee as our academic-support service commitment, including applicable correction and revision support. Academic approval remains the university’s decision. This is a service commitment offered by our academic-support team; it does not mean an institution has delegated its decision-making authority. Contact us to understand the scope of revisions and the terms that apply to your requirement.
Use the Contact Us page, call +91 7982987641 or email ignouprojectreport1@gmail.com. Share your enrolment-free project details, specialisation and current stage without sending private login credentials. When contacting the team, mention whether your synopsis is pending, approved or under revision and whether you need formatting, methodology or OPMS document help. Do not disclose your Samarth password, OTP or confidential student account access.
Do not rely on replacement after Final Submit. Check all uploaded pages, attachments, signatures and details before final confirmation; corrections depend on the portal and university’s process. An incomplete upload risks an avoidable deficiency, especially if the wrong certificate or draft report has been attached. Use a file checklist before submission and save the final confirmation rather than relying on a browser tab remaining open.
The synopsis is the plan for the research, explaining the topic, rationale, objectives, proposed sources and methodology. The final report records the completed study, including literature, actual analysis, findings, conclusions and recommendations. A project report should develop the approved topic rather than replace it with an unrelated subject. Students should keep the approved proposal and supporting records for the final OPMS checklist.
Choose a manageable business or management issue with a defined organisation, market, customer group or dataset. State what you will measure or examine and how you will collect trustworthy information. For instance, “Customer satisfaction with mobile banking among salaried customers in a selected city” is more researchable than “Banking in India”. Confirm scope and suitability with an eligible supervisor before writing the synopsis.
The final project must remain consistent with the approved research proposal. If you need a substantive change in the topic, objectives or supervisor, seek authorisation under the current university process before treating the revised work as approved. Changing the title independently could create a mismatch between the approval evidence and the uploaded report.
Prepare a final report containing the necessary signed pages and annexures, the approved synopsis or approval proof, proposal copy and supervisor biodata where required. Check the live portal fields carefully: separate document categories can have different limits, such as 40 MB for the final report and lower limits for supporting PDFs. Do not upload a file under the wrong label merely because it fits the size limit.
Export the report directly to PDF where possible, avoid unnecessary high-resolution decorative images and compress scanned pages moderately. After compression, zoom into the smallest table text, signatures, charts and approval stamps. If any critical information becomes fuzzy or cropped, re-export or scan the affected pages before upload.
Objectives should be specific, researchable and neutral. Instead of stating “prove that training improves employee performance”, use an objective such as “to examine the relationship between training participation and perceived job performance”. Each objective should map to a question, dataset or analysis in the eventual report.
Check that the payment has been recorded against the correct student profile and MMPP-001 course, then revisit Samarth Services and the Project Portal. Delays, course eligibility and portal-specific access conditions can affect visibility. Keep the transaction reference and seek official technical assistance if the option remains missing rather than repeatedly paying without guidance.
A report prepared earlier still needs a valid approved proposal, current registration eligibility and compliance with the submission and document requirements for the selected session. Confirm that the report title and supervisor records match the approval evidence. Follow the December 2026 OPMS submission route instead of relying on older postal procedures.
Use a transparent research design, genuine records or survey responses, appropriate sample justification, interpretable charts, clearly explained results and complete source references. Distinguish what the data actually shows from assumptions or general opinion. A credible conclusion explicitly answers the original objectives and acknowledges practical limitations.
Provide your programme or specialisation, MMPP-001 stage, topic or area of interest, whether a synopsis is approved and the kind of guidance you need. If you have received academic feedback, explain its substance without exposing sensitive login or identity information. The team can then clarify which support services are relevant.
The stated last date for IGNOU MBA MMPP-001 project submission for the June 2027 TEE is 30 May 2027. Students should complete synopsis approval and report preparation early, upload the required PDFs through the prescribed OPMS workflow, review the submission carefully and save the final acknowledgement. Check IGNOU Samarth for any updated instructions. Do not assume that paying the fee automatically submits the project report.
Find further information about projects for other postgraduate programmes and review the latest portal notices before submission.
